28 Oct 2025 Spring cleaning is overrated
I’ve had a few fun things going on with Westchester Magazine lately. One of them is coming out any day now, where I’m featured as their house cleaning “expert,” answering some of the most common questions people ask me.
But given that pumpkin spice lattes are back making everything feel cozy (whether we actually like the drink or think it’s hit its peak and then some), I’d love to share the article that went online last week — it pits fall cleaning against spring cleaning for the title of seasonal champ.
See, spring cleaning gets all the attention, but that tradition comes from a time when people were literally scrubbing soot off their walls after a long winter of coal-burning fires.
These days, if there’s only going to be one big seasonal clean, I say fall deserves the spotlight. It’s when we get ready to spend the most time at home and our surroundings start to matter even more. That’s why it matters to start with a clean home.

And since this season really is the perfect time for a reset, we want to make it a little easier to keep your home feeling its best.
Hit reply (to hello@maidbrigadehousecleaning.com) and tell me where you stand on pumpkin spice lattes — love them or hate them.
If you’re a current Maid Brigade customer, we’ll add 1,500 Sparkle Reward points to your account to use toward any add-on service between now and the end of November.
If you’re new here or returning, we’ll send you a promo code for a free hour of cleaning (up to an $85 value) during a visit this fall.
Because whether it’s a deep fall clean or a simple refresh, a cleaner home makes everything feel a little lighter, calmer, and more under control — exactly what we all need heading into the cozy months ahead.
Warmly,
