Last week, we lost one of our own. Her name was Gilda Marques, and if you knew Gilda, you would remember her smile first. It was enormous. For the last two years, many of us participated in the Support Connections Support-A-Walk in her honor. This year, we did it in matching tracksuits and bright pink hats. Gilda wasn’t up for walking with us, but she modeled the tracksuit in this photo below |

This past Sunday, most every Maid Brigade employee came to Gilda’s funeral to pay our respects and say goodbye. And many of us wore our black jackets. That may say more about what she meant to this company than anything I could write. Gilda brought far too much joy to be remembered only with sadness. So I’m sharing one of our many favorite videos of her She was learning the “Dame Un Grrr“ trend, complete with the little claw hands and the “grrrr.” What she didn’t know was that Gary was standing right behind her, waiting to surprise her. |

Her reaction still makes me laugh. And that feels right. Gilda was funny, warm, joyful and completely herself. She personified every one of our company values, but more importantly, she was deeply loved by the people who worked beside her. So today, I just wanted you to meet Gilda. And to remember her the way we do. With that enormous smile. |
