Maid Brigade Marks 30 Years of Cleaning Westchester Homes

The White Plains-based company, named Best House Cleaning Company in the 2026 Best of Westchester Awards for the second consecutive year, has cleaned more than 535,000 homes since 1996.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., July 28, 2026 – Maid Brigade, a locally owned house cleaning company headquartered in White Plains, is marking 30 years in business this year. The company was also named Best House Cleaning Company in the 2026 Best of Westchester Awards, its second consecutive win in the category.

Robin Murphy opened her first Maid Brigade office in the Chappaqua area in 1996. Three decades later, the company serves families throughout Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties in New York, as well as Fairfield County and the greater Hartford region in Connecticut. Maid Brigade has cleaned more than 535,000 homes.

“Thirty years and a second Best of Westchester win give us two good reasons to celebrate,” said Robin Murphy, founder and Chief Cleaning Officer of Maid Brigade. “We have always believed a clean home is about more than how it looks. Much of that longevity comes down to who does the work. Maid Brigade employs its cleaning teams directly rather than using independent contractors, and every team member is trained, insured, bonded and background checked before entering a customer’s home. Rosa Morocho joined the company in 2014. More than a decade later, there are families on her route who have never had anyone else clean their home.

That belief also shapes what the company cleans with. Maid Brigade began cleaning with electrolyzed water in 2018. Murphy introduced the approach to the national Maid Brigade system, which later adopted it across the brand. The cleaning solution is made on site from tap water, salt and an electrical charge rather than conventional bottled cleaning chemicals. It is residue-free and fragrance-free, with no harsh chemical fumes or lingering scent on the surfaces families touch every day, which matters most in homes with young children, pets and anyone who has asthma or allergies.

“A clean home isn’t a luxury and it isn’t a chore,” Murphy said. “It’s one of the most practical ways to take care of your life. You eat there, you sleep there, you get sick there and you get better there. I believed that in 1996, and I still do.”
